A stool set designed for a D&AD (Design and Art Directors) global competition 2007.
This stool set was designed by Stuart Mutch furniture designer/maker, for a D&AD global competition for which he got recognition and his work printed in the D&AD 2007 Student Annual. The concept is that parents encourage their children to recycle plastic bottles by taking them to a factory where they are ground down into pellet's and re moulded into a stool set for parent and child. By providing bottles they would receive tokens which could be saved until enough are held to allow them to buy a stool set. The design was inspired by a heard of Elephants, particularly how a calf would nest under its mothers body for protection. Therefore the infant stool nests under the adult stool when not in use.
